Job Description

We are looking to fill multiple sales associate position for weekday and weekend hours. Associates are responsible for providing a welcoming customer experience, ringing up sales and processing new products. Candidate should be dependable, have the ability to provide excellent customer service, be self-motivated and have the ability to have some flexibility in their schedule. Job Responsibilities

Treats all customers and employees with respect consistently and contributes to a positive work environment
Awareness of and ability to communicate company policy
Execute all customer transactions accurately and in a timely manner
Proactively assess customers’ needs for timely service and react accordingly
Conduct daily bank visit and daily bank deposit
Conduct end of day merchant reports and balance register
Assist in the training of new employees
Assist Store Manager with daily store operations and visual merchandising
Implements established procedures and maintains standards in the following areas: restocking, shipment processing, markdowns and inventory
Maintains a clean and organized sales floor, stockroom, and restroom

Requirements

Proof of COVID vaccination
Mask wearing on all shifts
Self-motivated, outgoing
Able to work open and closing shifts/weekends
Working extended holiday hours
Ability to work both within a team and independently
Professional appearance and presentation
Effective problem-solving skills
Basic math skills
Ability to lift & carry 30 pounds.
Ability to maneuver around sales floor and stock room (including a flight of stairs).
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Comfort in using devices such as phones, tablet, register and charge machine

Company Description

Just Next Door is your quintessential neighborhood shop. It began forty years ago when the original owner couldn’t find decent greeting cards in this Boston suburb. She had been home raising her children for a number of years and it was time to try a new venture. The name Just Next Door was to let her children know that mom was off to work but only just next door to home and school. The shops has expanded twice over the years and now sells gifts, accessories, toys and of course greeting cards. The shops second and current owner worked at Just Next Door summers and vacations during college and stuck with it on weekends after college while working in social service field. She was always happiest back at the shop only two blocks from where she grew up. So after a few years of tutelage she bought the store. Today we retain that neighborhood feel and service our customers like the neighbors and friends that they are.
