Technology Sales / Business Development Professional - Construction

Are you an experienced hardware/software/solutions sales professional with construction / AEC industry experience? Are you extremely independent and success-driven with the desire to work remotely from your home office in Western/Central New York (ideal candidates will reside within 100 miles of Syracuse)? The Technology Sales / Business Development Professional - Construction will be responsible for applying an understanding of our client’s construction technology products, sales methodology, processes, prospecting techniques, and customer base while selling technology solutions to construction customers of all sizes in the Western New York region. In this role, you will focus on companies that can benefit from our client’s world-class portfolio throughout the Design-Build-Operate (DBO) lifecycle of the building construction industry. By adopting our client’s field technology (layout, 3D scanning, and AR/VR), general contractors and construction managers, along with specialty contractors, can realize greater efficiency and profitability. The primary function of the Technology Sales / Business Development Professional - Construction is new account acquisition. The aim of this role is to grow revenue with an emphasis on new logo customer sales within the commercial vertical construction industry. This includes following up on inbound leads, prospecting, qualifying, solution selling, negotiation, and closing.

Key Responsibilities for the Technology Sales / Business Development Professional - Construction

•Deliver technical presentations which demonstrate and enforce the value to accounts in terms of productivity, accuracy, quality and return on investment
•Develop prospecting plans for territory development to build rapport and create opportunities
•Research accounts, identify key players, generate interest and obtain business requirements
•Fully prospect all commercial and residential construction projects within the territory
•Maintain accurate and up-to-date forecasts
•Manage and maintain accurate leads, opportunities, and account information within Salesforce.com
•Provide sales management with reports on sales activities and projects as requested forecasts
•Achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly targets
•Pursue and increase knowledge of key competitors to ensure that our value proposition is effectively communicated to customers
•Achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly targets
•Obtain repeat business, referrals, and references by applying an understanding of the unique requirements of your customers
•Timely follow-up and qualification of new prospects from either inbound leads or customer requests generated by marketing
•Networking, relationship building, cold calling, lead follow-up through emails, product demonstrations, and execution of service agreements
•Present a professional and positive company image at all times that model the company values

Requirements for the Technology Sales / Business Development Professional - Construction

•BA/BS or equivalent experience preferred
•Self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit accustomed to aggressive growth
•2+ years of demonstrated success in “solution sales” in the building construction industry
•Experience using a consultative, solution-based sales methodology desired
•Proven record of success in an inside sale and or outside sales based selling model
•Ability and resilience to work in a fast-paced sales environment
•Ability to develop trusted relationships
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and online collaboration tools
•Experience with CRM and opportunity management systems, preferably Salesforce.com
•Proven ability to develop and manage pipeline and forecasting
•This position will require approximately 50% travel with occasional overnight stays.

Other - Enjoy an outstanding benefits package including a very competitive base salary along with an excellent commission structure with no caps on earnings. Our client also provides a company car, gas credit card, and resources for you to operate a successful home office. Target compensation for this position is approximately $135,000 (base plus commission).
