Job Description

Joule Clinical is staffing a Global Medical Affairs Manager for our pharma client based in Raritan, NJ

  • Raritan Based:  Will be fully remote until the offices open back up.  TBD on how many days remote after office opens up
  • Selected candidate must be commutable to Raritan, NJ 
  • Contract Length: Long-term, Indefinite

Supports & Develops Slide Decks:

Global Medical Affairs Team Meetings (GMATs)

Respiratory Global Publication Planning Group Meetings (GPPGs)

Global Commercial Strategic Operations (GCSO)

IEGP, Gap Analyses

Annual Budget Planning

Other Major Activities Include (not limited to):

Advisory Board Support (coordinating team availability, totality transactions, submitting contracts, etc)

Assist with RfPs to vendors, and organize bid defense meetings

Training New Project Coordinator

Assist with onboarding Respiratory Global MAF Team Members

Creating Pigeon Newsletters

Uploads materials into SKIM

Reorganization/clean up of GMA SP files for all IDV products

Maintain reviewer list for respiratory products in ReCAP and JPUBS

Organizes Team OneDrive & SharePoint

 

Job Title:  Global Medical Affairs (GMA) Manager

Organizational Relationships:

  • Reports to EP Clinical Operations Manager with dotted line reporting into management
  • Partners with the GMAD and GMALs in one or more designated Therapeutic Areas/Products to manage the operational aspects of the Global Medical Affairs Function
  • May have frequent interactions with Client R&D clinical scientists, global and regional marketing directors, regulatory leaders, outcomes research and statisticians as well as external interactions with key opinion leaders, academic institutions, medical organizations, agencies and consultant
  • Primary Duties:
  • Supports GMAD in the generation of a consolidated global medical affairs plan that meets prioritized regional needs
  • Partners with the GMAD to manage the publications process ensuring the development of publications follow the Client policies/SOPs. 
  • Assists in the management of publication vendors coordinating publication discussions in collaboration with agency partners and Client stakeholders while managing the relationship with editorial staff at key journals and key scientific and academic societies
  • May provide Medical Affairs input into product development and life-cycle management
  • Participates in Global Medical Affairs Team meetings
  • Provides support for the development and execution of the publication strategy/global publication plans
  • Provides support for the development and execution of funded medical strategies (advisory boards, medical education, external data landscapes, etc.)
  • Adheres to EP and Client SOPs and processes, including GMA Owned Cross-Pharma SOPs and policies such as Research Concept Approval Process/System (ReCAP2), Publication Policy/SOP, Cooperative Group Policy, Investigator-Initiated Studies Policy/SOPs, Pre-approval Access Policy, Etc.
  • Supports GMA strategic planning process, global publication planning process, the GMA Operating Model, GMA SharePoint Site Management, GMA Procurement Operating Procedures, and Advisory Board Business Operating Procedures
  • May perform gap assessment and consolidated data generation planning process
  • Supports GMAD with ad-hoc requests as needed

 

  • Training and Education Preferred:
  • A minimum of a BA/BS required.  Advanced degree is preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required particularly in a medical, clinical or scientific environment
  • Global mindset with proven ability to partner cross culturally and regionally is preferred 
  • Strategic thinking, project management, and strong organizational skills are preferred 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral and strong collaboration and teaming skills are required
  • Ability to drive projects forward to completion while maintaining focus on the long term strategy is preferred 
  • Experience acting as a liaison to information technology (IT) is preferred
  • Experience managing publication vendors and/or other medical affairs vendors (e.g., advisory board) is preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of study methodology, data analysis techniques, and critical review of publications is strongly preferred
  • Budget and vendor management experience is preferred 
  • Proven experience in driving results in a highly complex and rapidly changing environment is required
