Telecom OSP Field Engineers/Stakers Multiple states

Mid-State Consultants, a telecommunications engineering and consulting division of JSI, is seeking multiple experienced Telecom OSP Field Engineers/Stakers to perform field-work type engineering and staking in Louisiana, Nebraska, Montana, and more. This position includes taking notes and drawing routes of where telecom facilities will be placed. Can be buried, underground, or aerial. Required to travel around to different areas, in most cases. 

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES (include but not limited to):

• Conduct site walks
• Collect relevant information. Accurately document existing measurements and proposed placements
• Make notations of land condition and other relevant structures or landmarks
• Determine ideal location for new above and below ground facilities and equipment
• Create hand drawn or CAD sketches of recommended engineering plans while in the field
• Accurately depict new construction route opportunities on work prints/staking sheets
• Often extensive travel and time away from home is required

REQUIREMENTS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:        

• Previous experience and knowledge of OSP Telecom Construction and Engineering is desired 
• Working knowledge of RUS practices and terminology is desired
• Ability to read and understand maps, drawings, and diagrams for telecom facilities construction
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office programs and Adobe Acrobat
• Working knowledge of Google Earth/Maps
• Highly organized, self-starter, and detail oriented
• Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills
• Superior time management and strong attention to detail
• Must be able perform repetitive physical motions of bending, standing, climbing, and walking on uneven terrain.
   (You will be exposed to various weather conditions)
• Overtime is often required
