Responsibilities: Flexing joints of horses for lameness exams Restraining horses for procedures Carrying heavy equipment and setting up X-ray machine and taking X-rays Working one-on-one with Veterinarian to prepare for procedures (scrubbing for joint injections, setting up ultrasound machine.) Sending blood to laboratories Labeling medications per instruction and ensuring delivery to clients Filling out medication reports / coggins forms / health certificates Archiving x-rays and ultrasounds on the server Maintaining invetory of drugs and supplies / tracking medication expiration dates Stocking the truck: maintaining invetory of drugs and supplies /tracking medication expiration dates, filling out the monthly controlled substance reports Requirements: Non smoker Must be able to carry heavy equipment (lifting shockwave, x-ray machine, ultrasound) repeatedly in and out of the truck. This job is very rewarding, but it does require adaptability for last minute schedule changes. It is not a 9-5 job; sometimes it's a 5am start or a 10pm finish, and working weekends. One day off per week from November 1 through May 1.
