Johanson Technology Inc. (JTI) is looking for a Regional Sales Manager for our Eastern Territory. JTI has over thirty years' experience specializing in the design, manufacture and sales of high-quality Power and RF ceramic chip capacitors, inductors, and Integrated Passive Components into the global electronics market.

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for growing our business in the Eastern Territory. Key success factors in this role are the identification, development, and closure of new business and fulfillment of existing business. Johanson's products include a variety of capacitors, chip antennas and integrated passive components.

  • Develop a sales growth plan for driving representatives & managing them.
    • Grow sales 10% above electronics market expectations.
    • Create and Manage Semi-Annual Corporate Forecast.
    • Conduct Quarterly Forecast for pipeline reviews with our Manufacture's Reps that are documented with 30-day action plans.
    • Drive OEM Design Wins convert to a purchase order both locally and when OEM selects a Contract Manufacturer (domestic or foreign) for production of their product.
    • Train reps/agents to use our pipeline tracking system.

Other Regular Activities and Goals:
  • Define & Manage a Minimum of ten Top 10, Key Account or Strategic Account meetings/month.
  • Develop & assume leadership role for Region Top 10 prospects and those existing Key Accounts that drive current year sales.
  • Additionally support a total of 12 other customer meetings / month of which at least 6 are face-to-face meetings travel to customers at least 55% of the time.
  • Publish call reports within 48 hours after a meeting or 2 days after the end of the current business trip.
  • Manage our Reps/Agents to maximize revenue and pipeline performance and adjust as needed.
  • Work with Business/Product Development Managers to develop new business for their respective product lines.
  • Work with customers and Johanson Engineering to identify new product opportunities as they occur.
  • Develop and execute growth plans with Johanson Distribution Account Managers and local regional distributors (i.e., Arrow)
  • Penetrate customer's organization and develop a rapport with the decision maker(s), design engineers and buyer.
  • Extract and report key qualifying new opportunity information (i.e., EAU, Production Start-up, Competition).
  • Customer Fulfillment as needed.
  • Capable of following Company and Department procedures/policies.

  • Previous experience in a similar function for an electronic components company
  • Experienced in value-based selling.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organization, communication and closing skills.
  • Excellent follow-up skills by responding quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to analyze and think quickly to resolve conflict.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize competing requests.
  • Capable of identifying good business sense decisions that might create exceptions to policies.
  • Ability to follow virtual meeting etiquette such as having camera on, dressing appropriately and awareness of your surroundings (background and noise distractions).

Responsibility for Confidentiality

This position requires confidentiality; the company has many Non-Disclosure Agreements with customers who require confidentiality. The position involves handling confidential information and is expected to maintain proper security for all documents and follow privacy procedures at all times and occasionally will work with ITAR controlled documents. As such, US citizenship or permanent resident status is required.

Work Environment

This position operates in a home office environment and requires travel throughout assigned territory or as designated by Management Traveling via automobile, train, and airplane as necessary. This role occasionally uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers. Remote work associates who begin a Remote Work arrangement must have, at a minimum, a reliable, high-speed internet connection for remote access (VPN), consisting of 25 Mbps or greater download speeds and 5 Mbps upload or greater, a cell phone meets company requirements and a headset/earbuds with microphone and noise canceling capability.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time exempt position. Forty or more (40+) hours within a workweek

TRAVEL: At least 55% of domestic and/or international travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent 10+years of experience in Electronic component industry.
  • Technical ability to interact with customer's design engineers and communicate needs to factory.
  • Five(5)+ years of Regional Sales Management with direct experience in capacitor sales
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and expert knowledge in Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Five (5)+ years electrical component experience in Regional Sales Management.
