We are looking for an exceptional, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to join a dynamic research team as an Associate Director of Microbiome Research. The Associate Director will assist the Director and other investigators in driving an exciting Microbiome program and maintaining it as an active hub of collaboration across disciplines and institutions.
Our client applies a deep knowledge of human genetics to empower a revolution in biomedicine and accelerate the pace at which the world conquers disease. Through our partnerships with many renown hospitals and research institutions, they have become a worldwide hub of cutting-edge biomedical science.
In This Position, You Will
Build and engage a vibrant community of world-leading scientists. You will have a unique opportunity to both shape and implement the vision for the Microbiome program, working closely with the Director, Senior leadership, and other scientists who are driving the field.
Communicate the science. You are a natural editor who reads journals with an eye toward the significance of the work and gets annoyed when the science is conveyed poorly - it can keep you up at night! You are also a scientist who thrives in an intellectually stimulating, collaborative, and social environment. You enjoy utilizing your scientific knowledge and strong communication skills to shape scientific content.
Contribute intellectually. You look forward to attending scientific conferences and program meetings and digesting scientific literature in order to keep current on a wide range of microbiome, immunology, and metabolism research. You enjoy engaging in discussions with accomplished scientists, and you're confident and forthright with your own ideas -- but also OK with working in the background and deferring to others.
Get things done. You have superb time management skills and are used to things flying at you from all directions. You have a knack for knowing how and what to prioritize, and your leaders and collaborators trust that you will deliver -- because you do, every time.
You have a PhD in Microbiology, Computational Biology, Statistics, Immunology or related fields, and a broad set of skills in project management, scientific writing, and editing. You love working with diverse teams in a fast-paced environment and have a desire to contribute scientifically to breakthroughs in microbiome research.
