Job Description
Position: Technical Support Specialist
Position Type: Permanent
Location: Clinton, NJ
Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm
We have an opportunity with a growing firm for a Technical Support Specialist, in Clinton, NJ. The person selected will be responsible for will providing technical assistance and answer users’ questions by troubleshooting AV equipment issues. The candidate will troubleshoot with sales engineers to resolve software issues in addition to other job-related duties.
What you will be doing:
- Identify, investigate, and resolve users’ problems with AV equipment or software.
- Troubleshoot with field sales engineers through calls, emails, and/or other communication regarding software programming, connectivity, and similar concerns.
- Consult with users to determine steps and procedures taken to identify and resolve the problem.
- Apply knowledge of software, hardware, and procedures to solve problems.
- Guide users through diagnostic and troubleshooting processes, which may include use of diagnostic tools and software and/or following verbal instructions.
- Collaborate with other staff to research and resolve problems.
- Collaborate with programmers to explain errors and/or recommend modifications in programs.
What experience we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, preferred.
- At least two years of experience in customer technical support, strongly preferred.
- Certified Technology Specialist (CST) Certification
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and customer service disposition.
- Ability to explain technical issues to technical and nontechnical employees and customers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn an array of computer hardware and software.
