RN/LPN Charge Nurse
Jerome Home is a 120 bed Long Term Care Facility in New Britain, CT. Established under the will executed by Augustus Jerome, Jerome Home is a privately-owned, not-for-profit organization. We are a progressive, nursing community with a highly competent and caring staff. Established in 1932, our multi levels include; 26 units on RCH (Resident Care Home), 2 – 32 bed neighborhoods on SNF, and 1 – 30 bed rehab/SNF. Also on our campus is Arbor Rose, a 62 apartment Assisted Living Facility.
Our part time positions are on the 3-11 shift. A few are available on 11-7. We also are hiring for per diem all shifts
We take pride in our patient- centered care as our residents always come first. We have a dedicated senior population (no one under 60 can be admitted) except for our rehab neighborhood. Those residents could be under age 60, but will be discharge to home once rehab is completed.
As an RN Charge Nurse, you will work with a professional team of CNA’s to provide our residents the care and services they need to thrive. All of our nurse are IV certified. On evenings, our CNA ratio is excellent – up to a 6:1 ration on the 3 long term care neighborhoods.
We have several on-line programs currently being used by our staff:
- Matrix is used as our EMR.
- Shifthound is our on-line scheduling program. At the click of a button, you can request time off or request to pick up a shift. You can also send email/text notification to request coverage of an open shift.
- Relias is our on-line education program. Classes are assigned via email for you to complete in the allotted time at your own pace.
The successful RN Charge Nurse will possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in this state; possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action; have the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public. In addition, you will have leadership ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel; have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents. And finally, a requirement is to have 2 years experience in a Long Term Care environment.
