Job Description

Our small and growing management consulting firm is in immediate need of an experienced, innovative, personable, and motivated professional to lead and/or support a broad range of projects for local government clients.  We are seeking an individual who has experience and familiarity with local government structures, services, and processes.  This position leads and/or supports elements of client projects involving collaborative decision-making, organizational assessments, policy analysis, and public manager recruitments.

Jensen Strategies is a 10 year-old management consulting firm located in the South Portland area near the Columbia River waterfront.  We provide a broad range of management consulting services for local governments in the Pacific Northwest, focusing on facilitation of collaborative decision-making processes, organizational assessments, policy analyses, and executive recruitments.  We place a high value on providing professional services that support good governance with objectivity, neutrality, and integrity.  We work hard for our clients and expect all team members to provide high-caliber professional products and services.

Our team members work with local governments to facilitate and support decision-making processes to achieve positive, tangible, and implementable outcomes.  These projects can involve a broad range of issues including public safety, natural resources, human resources, transportation, land use, water, wastewater, and stormwater, judicial, corrections, libraries, parks, and other topics.

The office environment is collaborative, inclusive, hard-working, fun, and supportive. It is not uncommon to have all-team brainstorming sessions on projects. The small nature of our firm requires all team members to be flexible and adaptive to changing circumstances. The work environment is professional but informal where jeans are common on non-client meeting days. We encourage and place importance on maintaining work-life balance for our team.  The office is pet-friendly with team member dogs and a cat working in the office periodically.
