The Production Planner plans, schedules, prepares, and released production/assembly work orders in collaboration with the Production Planning Manager, Production Manager, Assembly Manager, Inventory Control and Purchasing. A primary focus is to organize this work in our SAP environment. The future growth and success of JOSI depends heavily on our successful implementation and execution of a mature production planning capability.
RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
Prepare and monitor long and short term production and assembly schedules in the SAP environment
Communicate schedule requirements and status to production and assembly management teams
Report potential on-time delivery risks to management team, propose appropriate action to mitigate risk
Opening of production orders and preparing the necessary production documentation
Planning/scheduling of production orders as well as capacity requirement analysis
React to Non Conformances or delivery delays via changed scope or new order creation
Reviewing production performance data for improved vendor scheduling.
Reviewing the SAP® production performance measurement and control (key performance indicators) for better production cost control
Participating in cost reduction and lean process improvement projects
Performs all other duties as assigned
Minimum 5 years experience in ERP software in the production planning and material management is required. SAP experience is preferred.
Minimum 5 years experience with production scheduling and/or resource planning
Experience with standard office software (MS Excel®, MS PowerPoint®, MS Outlook®)
Strong customer focus, both internal and external
Strong cost awareness and focus on efficiency
Working knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles
Excellent communication skills – verbal and written. Interacts well with others throughout the organization.
Must possess “soft skills”: conflict resolution and negotiation, personal effectiveness, creative problem solving, strategic thinking, team building and influencing skills
Expertise in dealing with people effectively and politely
APICS certification is a plus
AA/AS or BA/BS preferred
US Citizenship or Qualified U.S. Worker
