The Role

As an Account Director, you will lead on a client portfolio, ensuring you and the client team strive for excellence on behalf of your clients at all times, maintaining high levels of client satisfaction, client retention and growth. The Account Director must both provide strategic leadership and ensure we meet or exceed clients expectations, while exploring how we can grow and develop the accounts. This will include a very clear understanding of all of Jellyfishs services, in order to effectively identify opportunities within client business units and cross-sell agency capabilities in alignment with these. The Account Director will continually be seeking to develop relationships at all levels within the accounts they maintain. A portion of this role will be focused on identifying and securing new accounts. 80% of this role will be dedicated to growing and servicing current accounts, while 20% will be focused on securing relationships with new brands. As Jellyfish continues a journey of business transformation from a global production agency to a global content agency, this position is at the very heart of the agencys development.

The Account Director is responsible for the oversight and growth of existing agency client accounts that they maintain. They should be active in developing and overseeing the implementation of policies and workflows that align with the best interests of the client and agency alike. Ongoing client satisfaction relating to projects and broader campaigns, and the overall success and longevity of the relationship that Jellyfish has with its clients will be the responsibility of the Account Director.


  • You will be responsible for the leadership on one or more client account(s). You will collaborate with others to create exceptional client relationships as demonstrated in NPS scores and client retention. Seen by a client as the lead voice on an account, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • You will provide direction to the client team on the client ask through a well articulated strategic brief. You will be responsible for setting and managing KPIs that positively impact towards the clients business goals
  • Considered an emerging SME both internally across one (or more) products and/or verticals, staying on top of the latest developments, championing these areas and being a go to person for Client Management Globally. You will be able to articulate how JF products and solutions can support a client KPI's, identifying opportunities to enhance the Jellyfish client offering.
  • You will become an influential leader, embodying the JF cultural values and respected by other individuals. You will actively support the client team(s), ensuring they have the appropriate tools and resources needed to meet client needs. Able to effectively delegate to others and provide appropriate support to help develop and grow the career of others in the team.
  • You will adhere to client management best practices and achieving internal KPIs, such as maximising NPS response rates, maintenance of playbooks, creating client case studies, maintaining forecast accuracy etc
  • As client lead, you will manage to client commercial targets. Contribute to the commercial success of clients in your hub as evidenced by year on year growth for your portfolio, collaborating with your Hub Lead as appropriate.
  • Prepare and conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with key accounts and client contacts


  • Responsible for financial forecasting and budget/expense planning, management and reporting
  • Implement optimized processes and ensure ongoing financial oversight of client accounts including accurate and timely estimating, invoicing, monthly reconciliation of jobs, and follow-up reporting
  • Monitor and manage performance to ensure objectives are met and report/address any deviation from plan
  • Ensure that assigned accounts achieve their budgeted growth in the forecast year


  • Seek to build relationships with senior managers within the business so that Jellyfish is perceived as a true partner, versus purely a supplier
  • Assist in the development of internal Project Management resources to support client accounts
  • Motivate the team, especially during challenging times to be an example of what a can-do attitude can achieve


What youll need

  • Bachelors Degree, with minimum 10+ years of agency, or client-side experience in marketing, advertising or marketing communications
  • Consumer brand experience with global brands preferred
  • A good understanding of digital marketing channels and Jellyfish capabilities, and how they contribute to drive marketing success
  • Strong communication, both verbal and written with ability to translate for those who dont have technical knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in influencing, listening and building relationships
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment on multiple priorities simultaneously, prioritising and coping well under pressure and with competing demands
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • A passion for digital and a desire to develop and enhance skills
  • Situation and location of role activities will depend on specific business and client requirements and therefore may be subject to change at short notice
  • Periodic travel will be required; must hold a valid passport
