Financial Cost Analyst
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain and monitor costs for critical products. Update standard costs for products and review costs for new products after released. Monitor actual product costs against standard, examine and analyze variance and make recommendations to management on changes identified.
Analyze material, labor and overhead COGS on a monthly basis. Prepare appropriate journal entries to reconcile COGS and report results with analysis to management (Monthly Sales/COGS Report).
Create and publish twelve month trend report of sales, COGS and margin by customer, part number, etc.
Analyze Tooling Inventory and Tooling Expense Reports, and prepare monthly Tooling Inventory report and reconcile to the general ledger.
Implement and reconcile VM perpetual inventories to the GL (FG, RM, Hdwe, Details & WIP).
Perform regular analysis of all closed work orders, prepare correcting inventory adjustments and maintain correct FIFO inventory layers.
Analyze cycle counts and Inventory adjustments on a regular basis, prepare correcting journal entries and weekly reports for cycle counts and inventory adjustments. Develop and maintain cycle count data base.
Assist with the development of forecasts and budgets of sales, COGS, margins and commissions. Prepare regular analysis for management.
Evaluate current cost allocation methodologies, prepare cost rate schedules and initiate improvements.
Assist Planning Department with conducting physical inventories. Ensure proper valuation of physical inventory.
Implement cycle counting procedures and management reports to improve inventory accuracy.
Monitor and maintain proper inventory activity codes and product codes.
Assists with training of operations personnel with manufacturing reporting procedures.
Communicate non-routine transactions with the CFO and President.

Education and/or Experience
-Must be able to communicate fluently in English (read, write, verbal).
-Bachelor's Degree in accounting. Proven advanced knowledge and understanding of cost accounting principles and practices.
-2 years manufacturing cost accounting experience minimum.
-Ability to analyze and interpret financial and operational data.
-Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software.
-Continuing education in the area of cost accounting.
