Excellent opportunity for a paralegal with a minimum of five years litigation experience required, higher preferred. Successful applicant must have solid technical and administrative skills. The selected individual will provide support to a senior partner of a mid-town law firm specializing in insurance defense. This position maintains and processes case information, performs ECF filings and assisting with cases in several state and federal jurisdictions, creates electronic files, and prepares and processes correspondence, memoranda, notices, subpoenas and complex legal documents, including appellate briefs. Knowledge of legal terminology, local and state rules regarding pleadings and pretrial matters, deadlines and filing requirements a must.Responsibilities include drafting and preparing routine correspondence, documents for state and various federal court filings (including e-Filings), discovery requests and responses, letters and other miscellaneous pleadings, motions forms and other documents. Additional responsibilities for the successful applicant include calendaring and maintaining a litigation deadlines database, maintaining the attorney's appointment calendar and schedule and coordination of witnesses. Qualified applicants must have strong word-processing and editing skills; should possess strong communication, organizational, computer and client service skills; and be able to multi-task and work in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook, required. Familiarity with TABS and Time Matters case management software desired.
