Position Summary The Sr. Director of IT is responsible for the strategic leadership and day-to-day delivery of all information technology services for the company. As a $ 650 M Materials Science and Manufacturing company, Jadex success depends on our ability to rapidly innovate and deliver innovative products to Customers such that they can serve fast-changing market demands for solutions that provide leading sustainability, economics, and performance. IT in turn must prepare itself to support the strategic shift of Jadex to unparalleled product innovation, outstanding quality of delivery, higher rates of growth, and increased profitability. To meet this challenge IT requires an energetic and experienced leader who can deeply partner with Senior business leadership to devise business and technology strategies; energize and empower the IT workforce to achieve the vision of “outside-in” focus (i.e. business first) and can position IT as a premier service delivery and enablement organization. IT has recently embarked on an initial campaign to re-make its infrastructure and operational footprint during its separation from former parent Newell Co. Primary Functions IT Leadership · Develop and maintain IT positioning as an effective Service Delivery organization focused on the introduction of technology-based solutions that advance key business priorities. · Cultivate effective business relationships with key stakeholders from across the business. · Partner with the CFO and other business leaders to lead development of the IT Strategic Plan and effectively communicate its contents to stakeholders across the business. · Develop and execute an effective Organizational strategy to best utilize and continuously develop IT staff while blending in the unique contributions of external resources. · Provide leadership and support in the analysis of key business requirements from across the business and successfully blend prioritized needs into the evergreen execution roadmaps for IT initiatives. · Provide leadership in the definition and application of governance best practices for project, portfolio, change, and investment management. Infrastructure Services & Operations · Maintain overall responsibility for all Infrastructure operations inclusive of defining the set of delivered Services, setting service level objectives, designing the delivery model for each, engaging service providers as required, and reporting achieved service levels. · Provide leadership support to full-time staff in the Infrastructure domain including strategy development, architecture and technology planning, vendor selection, and other delivery activities. · Oversee implementation of a continuous improvement philosophy and practices to improve infrastructure service delivery economics. · Provide effective oversight for the development and maintenance of a robust disaster recovery and business continuity plan to ensure timely and effective restoration of IT services. Applications · Maintain overall responsibility for all Application operations including support and maintenance activities to provide robust support of required business functionality. This includes the definition and delivery of support and maintenance activities relying on internal, and as necessary, external resources. · Provide leadership support to full-time staff in the Application domain including strategy development, architecture and technology planning, vendor selection, and other delivery activities. · Provide oversight to staff performing application licensing, vendor management, and other externally oriented activities to maintain solid working relationships with key partner and proper compliance with licensing requirements. · Provide leadership support to assigned project teams that are deploying new application functionality inclusive of ERP modules, best of breed applications, integration technology, and other elements of the application strategy. · Oversee implementation of a continuous improvement philosophy and practices to improve application service delivery economics. Cybersecurity Architecture & Operations · Maintain overall responsibility for the Cybersecurity strategy, architecture, tools, and processes that safeguard employee and informational assets of the company. · Provide leadership support to full-time staff leading the definition and deployment of cybersecurity services and practices ensuring robust coverage of policy development, audit, incident response, and other components of the cybersecurity domain. Financial Management · Develop and lead execution of the IT Annual Operating Expense Plan inclusive of all direct costs incurred by IT on behalf of the business. · Develop and lead execution of the IT Annual Capital Expense Plan inclusive of establishing and conducting at least quarterly Investment Governance meetings that involve key business stakeholders in the evaluation and approval of business cases, risk mitigation, and execution plans for proposed IT investment projects. Education and Experience Education Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or other related degrees, desired. Master’s degree in computer science, M.B.A/M. S, or other related degrees, preferred. Experience/Knowledge · 7 - 10 years of experience functioning as an Information Technology Manager or higher, required. Experience in both (1) Infrastructure and Operations and (2) Applications development and support is strongly preferred. · 5+ years of responsibility for formulating and managing Budgets exceeding $ 1M · Knowledge and proficiency utilizing one of the primary distributed service ERP systems, Epicor, and other distributed service applications desired. · Experience overseeing a Service Desk, Infrastructure, and Network experience including infrastructure planning and operations, preferred. · Leadership experience in recommending, implementing, maintaining, network hardware, applications and software systems. · Must possess experience analyzing, implementing and evaluating IT related systems and specifications. · Ability to apply and enforce Information Security best practices to overall operations of the department. · Ability to manage budgets and overall administration, change management, release management and problem management for the department.
