Job Description
Position Summary
The Office Administration is responsible for obtaining and receiving merchandise, totaling bills, accepting payment, and making change for customers in the retail store by performing the following duties.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Two years of reception experience (or equivalent customer-related ability)
  • Prior administrative office management experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer relationship skills

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Answering, assisting and directing all incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner
  • Stocking shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise
  • Setting up displays and arranging merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales
  • Obtaining and receiving merchandise requested or selected by customers
  • Answering customers’ questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise
  • Totaling price and tax on merchandise purchased by customer to determine bill
  • Accepting payments and making change; wrapping or bagging merchandise for customers
  • Removing and recording amount of cash in register at end of shift
  • Keepings records of sales, preparing an inventory of stock and ordering merchandise
  • Keeping the showroom clean and orderly
  • Managing and ordering office supplies
  • Providing administrative support when needed
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
• Previous retail or customer service experience
• High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as a department manual
• Ability to speak politely and effectively with customers
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical situations
• Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form
• Ability to work with a minimum amount of supervision under stressful conditions

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
