**Senior Project Controls Professional**
**Description**
A project controls professional who has substantial experience in the subject areas of project controls, planning/scheduling, earned value control, cost control, and change control\.
Role:

* Serve as a technical expert in cost control and planning/scheduling\. Understand the relationships between the project controls functions- planning/scheduling, cost control, and risk management\.

* Actively review and thoroughly understand all aspects of the proposal or project contract\. Develop and execute the strategy and plan for project controls activities that support the overall proposal strategy or project requirements\. Help identify risk areas\.

* Establish and leverage cross\-discipline relationships within the business group to facilitate cost control\.

* Provide cost control and planning/scheduling, leadership on project teams\. Advise and counsel in areas of expertise\.

* Implement and execute proper controls to proactively support, monitor, and communicate budget, actual status, and forecast costs, labor hours, and quantities for projects within a specific business group\.

* Provide a proactive contribution to the management of risk, cost, and quantities on a project\. Determine the most critical measures and implement systems of control to provide timely feedback\. Follow through on these items to improve the opportunity for success\.

* Analyze risk to forecast contingencies\. Support contingency management\.

* Develop, publish, and promote the use of change control procedures\. With project team, follow through on the procedures to recover all costs not specifically defined by the contract\.

* Develop accurate and timely project cost forecasts with the participation of lead staff and project management\. The forecasts should be valued and used by the project team to contribute to the overall management of the project\.

* Analyze performance data to forecast labor hours based on performance\.

* Develop and issue timely cost reports\. Prepare and issue cost analysis narratives including recommendations for corrective actions that are used by the project team to manage the work\.

* Manage cash flow on a project\. Work with project management and project accounting to maintain an appropriate cash flow\.

* Create and issue client and internal status reports that effectively communicate cost status and trends\. Define corrective actions for implementation\.

* Develop, via a top\-down approach, project work plans and schedules that support the project/business group work processes and milestones\.

* Baseline and issue network\-logic\-driven schedules that meet the needs of, and are used by, the project team\.

* Update schedules with actual progress and forecast remaining durations, project milestones, and completion dates\.

* Prepare schedule risk analysis to forecast schedule contingencies and related cost impacts\. Support contingency management\.

* Develop accurate and timely project labor hour forecasts with the participation of lead staff and project management\. Prepare and issue schedule analysis narratives including recommendations for corrective actions for use by the project team to manage the work\.

* Monitor earned value systems that accurately measure progress and performance\. Analyze the data to lead project controls staff and the project team\. Understand earned\-value concepts and terms\.

* Create and issue client and internal status reports that effectively communicate schedule status and identify critical path\. Define corrective actions for implementation\.

* Apply practical field experience with planning/scheduling knowledge to identify challenges to the project schedules and suggest mitigation plans\.

* Accountable to business group project controls management with matrix responsibility to project/construction management\. Provide client and company accurate project controls information for meeting project goals\.
Relationships:

* Work with responsible business group management, project/construction management, and project team to provide effective project controls\.

* Establish relationships with applicable external entities such as clients, partners, and subcontractors\.

* Begin establishing relationships with peers and industry experts in project controls\.
Authority:

* Deploy, implement, and train on standard cost control procedures following the enterprise and/or business group procedures\.

* Coordinate and communicate with other project control and project team disciplines to develop deliverab
