Location: Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio

Requirements:

  • US Citizenship
  • Have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Minimum of a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration or a Master's degree of Management. Relevant education/training and experience may be considered an acceptable substitute for minimum education requirements
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years healthcare or research management experience
  • Work independently with minimal daily direction
  • Results driven and have a demonstrated track record of working with consumers to help shape requirements, as well as iteratively develop product solutions to meet customer needs
  • Experience working in cross-disciplinary teams that involve subject matter experts from a wide-variety of technical disciplines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint as required for periodic reporting and oversight delivered to stakeholders and interested Joint community partners

Highly Desired Qualifications:

  • Research advanced development experience
  • Knowledge in aerospace medical research strategies, policies, and regulations, and ability to recommend best practices consistent with those guidelines as required for successful product delivery

Tasks:

  • Assist the Product Area Leads develop strategic plans and objectives by ensuring close coordination with similar Joint Medical Science and Technology (S&T) Programs
  • Support Product Area Leads in coordination of new Air Force Medical S&T requirements/projects with the other Services to ensure strong connections for synergy, leveraging opportunities, and avoidance of duplication
  • Assist the Product Area Leads to develop strategic plans and objectives by ensuring close coordination with medical agencies within the Federal Government and externally through a broad awareness of relevant external S&T Programs
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with Joint Service stakeholders.
  • Assist in defining and addressing Joint Service capability requirements, and communicate them to the 711 HPW/RHB technical teams to inform their research priorities and shape their efforts to guide toward product development
  • Apply acquisition and program management principles and expertise to guide program and project accomplishment through the various phases of the research acquisition lifecycle
  • Provide guidance in the development of strategic and tactical acquisition planning by defining the scope, cost, schedule and performance parameters necessary to successfully execute projects within the division portfolio
  • Assist in preparing Statements of Work and other documents in support of research efforts that will lead to closure of validated Joint capability requirements
  • Provide technical guidance, advisory support, and assistance on a diverse set of research management issues
  • Prepare project reports for Major Commands, management officials and identified program/project stakeholders at Quarterly Reviews, Ad Hoc Status Reports, and annual Program Management Reviews
  • Collaborate and network with internal and external Subject Matter Experts, Core Research Area Leads, Product Area Leads, Mission Area Leads, and Product Line Leads for technical expertise and insight into customer requirements and S&T performance
  • Identify and document technical risks using expert judgment and historical data, and implement approved actions and workarounds required to mitigate and minimize the impact of project risk
  • Collect, analyze and appraise data to draw conclusions and devise solutions to problems relating to the delivery of products
  • Engage in learning aerospace medical research strategies, policies, and regulations, and recommend best practices consistent with those guidelines as required for successful product delivery
  • Support budget tasks on estimating development, transition, and operational costs associated with Aerospace Physiology/Medicine products
  • Participate in portfolio (virtually or in-person) reviews, conferences, and meetings to deliver presentations on program requirements, advocate program objectives, status, accomplishments, challenges encountered and anticipated, and collaborations within and outside of the 711th Human Performance Wing and Joint community
