Position Purpose:The Program Aide/Van Driver Assists the Program Director, Activity Coordinator and RN in all aspects of ADHC. Assists in scheduling, attendance and nutritional aspects of the program. Assists with the coordination and supervision of arts & crafts component and recreational activities, music therapy, and personal hygiene needs.
The Program Aide/Van Driver also assists in record keeping of the daily activities of ADHC program. The Director may delegate daily supervision of the Program Aides based on respective duties to the Activity Coordinator and the ADHC Program Nurse.Responsibilities: Assists the Program Administrator, Nurse and Activity Coordinator of ADHC and is supervised by the Activities Coordinator and reports directly to the Director about all aspects of care. Helps with the nutrition aspect of the program, reporting the number of meals needed for lunch, participant intake and eating problems.
Responsible for preparation and serving of snacks and... meals. Program Aides will help participants with cutting food when appropriate and will also help with feeding if needed.
Aide will help with other aspects of personal hygiene, assisting RN with keeping continence and toileting schedules and change of clothes if necessary. Assists with implementation and supervising of arts and crafts projects and recreational activities. Assists with keeping inventory of all supplies and consumables for program, including art supplies, personal hygiene supplies, paper goods for meals and snacks and snack foods.
Reports inventory needs to Activity Coordinator. Assists with special events for the ADHC. Assists participants in arrival and departure, seeing them safely to their respective transportation providers.
Responsible for the implementation of the Program and safety of all participants Reports to Program Director any complaint or concern having to do with staff, volunteers or participants. Works closely with Nurse and Rehabilitation Staff in implementation of any maintenance program. Drive company van to pick up and drop off participants as needed.
Maintain current valid California Driver's License Reports vehicle maintenance to Director via the daily "Vehicle Maintenance Log" Marketing as assigned by Program Director.Minimum Requirements: Minimum of two years' experience working in adult day care center or related field. Training in activities for elderly or training as a nurse's aide. Knowledge and understanding of problems affecting the frail elderly.
Sensitivity toward impaired elderly and caregivers. Ability to work with volunteers and with others and take initiative. High School Diploma Nurses Aide or Medical Assistant Certification 36 Hour Activity Certificate strongly recommended.Employee Benefits: JWCH Institute, Inc., offers competitive salaries for all positions.
