General Manager of A High Volume Restaurant

Job Description Julep Farms is a 22 acre agri-tourism destination in beautiful Rabun County, GA - The Farm to Table capital of Georgia. We are a “Modern Farm Resort” with 4 upscale rental cottages sleeping 16, a 4,000 sf working barn that does events up to 75, chickens that produce 2-4 dozen eggs a day, herb and flower gardens, horses and a 9500 sf restaurant, event room, bar, coffee & sweets bar, and an upscale “gift shop” that will open in Early Fall of 2019. We are looking for a Restaurant Manager to lead all aspects of our business. You will deliver a high-quality menu and motivate our staff to provide 5 star customer service. Restaurant manager responsibilities include maintaining the restaurant’s revenue, profitability and quality goals. You will ensure efficient restaurant operation, as well as maintain high production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.To be successful in this role, you’ll need management skills and experience in both the front and back of the house. We want you to know how to oversee the dining room, check-in with customers and balance seating capacity. Back of the house management experience is also essential, as you’ll hire qualified Cooks and Wait Staff, set work schedules, oversee food prep and make sure we comply with health and safety restaurant regulations. We’ll expect you to lead by example and uplift our staff during busy moments in our fast-paced environment. Ultimately, you will ensure our restaurant runs smoothly and customers have pleasant dining experiences. Requirements Minimum 5 years of experience as a high volume General Manager Impeccable attention to detail with the ability to multitask Must have proven technical aptitude as it relates to restaurant preventative maintenance on restaurant & kitchen equipment. Proven work experience as a Restaurant Manager, Restaurant General Manager, or Hospitality Manager Proven customer service experience as a manager Extensive food and beverage (F&B) knowledge, wine knowledge a plus Familiarity with restaurant management software, like OpenTable and POS systems Strong leadership, motivational and people skills Acute financial management skills and keen understanding of P&L accountability BS degree in Business Administration; hospitality management and/or culinary schooling desired Retail and/or Coffee bar experience a major plus Restaurant General Manager Job Duties: Attracts patrons by developing and implementing marketing, advertising, public and community relations programs; evaluating program results; identifying and tracking changing demands. Controls purchases and inventory by meeting with account manager; negotiating prices and contracts; developing preferred supplier lists; reviewing and evaluating usage reports; analyzing variances; taking corrective actions. Maintains operations by preparing policies and standard operating procedures; implementing production, productivity, quality, and patron-service standards; determining and implementing system improvements. Maintains patron satisfaction by monitoring, evaluating, and auditing food, beverage, and service offerings; initiating improvements; building relationships with preferred patrons. Accomplishes restaurant and bar human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining management staff; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy facility environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures; complying with health and legal regulations; maintaining security systems. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in the restaurant industry; attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies. Accomplishes company goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
