Production Supervisor - 1st shift

• Global foods manufacturer with over 50 manufacturing facilities throughout the United States.
• These roles are open due to expansion as they are adding two 1st shift supervisors to the operation
• This facility produces a variety of ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat products in a facility that is 500,000 sqf feet and has a mix of new automated and old equipment.
• They need a supervisor who will manage an assigned department and will be responsible to organize, streamline and improve the operations output.

• Base salary of 60K – 70K + bonus + overtime with a total = 90K

Responsibilities

• Supervise mixing, blending, and processing departments with an emphasis on teamwork, and safety to produce the highest quality products
• Manage a team of 20 hourly employees on 1st shift
• Utilize lean and six-sigma principles to implement continuous improvement methodologies to increase production
• Analyze food processing runs and make suggestions for improvement
• Manage, evaluate, and train staff by coaching, conducting performance appraisals, administering corrective action, and training
• Identify issues related to quality, safety, down time, production problems or any other unexpected issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, prefer education with Operations Management, Engineering, Business, similar education, or an equivalent of 5+ years of leadership experience
• 0-2+ years of manufacturing or military supervision experience
• Lean manufacturing, 5S, six-sigma or other continuous improvement tools is preferred
• Former military veterans are a plus
• Good attitude, hardworking, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to think outside the box and use root cause analysis to solve problems
• Able to work in a high-speed facility with the capability of implementing lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies
• Computer literate in MS Excel, word, and SAP / ERP systems
