Job Description

· Sales Associate, OEM Sales

POSITION SUMMMARY: The Sales Associate for OEM Sales will join our client’s growing team of data center sales professionals. The ideal candidate will be team-oriented, self-motivated, interactive, and enthusiastic about developing and contributing to our client’s equipment sales growth. The goal of our client’s OEM Sales team is to directly affect sales of our preferred partners’ equipment by supporting bid specification of their equipment to consulting engineers and electrical and mechanical contractors. The Sales Associate will work closely with their experienced team to learn the market and the skills required for success.


· Sell to new and existing target market customers by developing and growing new relationships

· Support the experienced OEM sales team to learn the business

· Create compelling sales pitches.

· Research sales statistics and establish sales potential with new businesses in target area.

· Ability to review and assimilate complex construction drawings for opportunity identification and quotation

· Perform research on the competition's services.

· Become an expert in product/service offerings and serve as a go-to source for clients who want more information concerning the company’s offerings.

· Use promotional methods such as phone calls, emails, and social media to reach potential clients and build a long-lasting business relationship with them.

· Maintain and manage a sales funnel within CRM tools provided

  • 50% travel but all in MD/DC/VA.



· 2-5 years outside sales experience, preferably within the data center space, with record of consistently meeting and exceeding sales objectives.

· Excellent Oral Communication Skills.

· Self-starter, internally motivated and someone that once given a task can follow it through to completion without a great deal of oversight.

· Team oriented; able to collaborate within sales team as well as operations and finance teams to solve problems and drive solutions.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to develop rapport with individuals.

· Demonstrable prospecting skills for uncovering new client opportunities via personal ecosystem/professional network and/or avenues such as LinkedIn, email, phone, etc.

· Ability to manage existing client relationship for revenue growth across Lines of Business and retention of existing services.

· Ability to demonstrate general understanding of Data Center Facility equipment operation, and how various “systems” within the facility work together as a whole.

· Experience in funnel management and understand the industry sales cycle, timing, probability of close.

· Mission Critical industry relationships are a plus.

Computer Skills:

· Basic Computer skills: Microsoft Office, Adobe

· Beneficial Computer skills: Autocad, Visio, Microsoft Project, Procore (or similar), NetSuite

· Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint experience
