Job Description

Job Title: Job Title: Stationary Engineer

Department: Lab Maintenance, Pontiac Engineering Center

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

 

Job Summary/Goals:

Seeking self-motivated, energetic individual to work in a team setting for the role of Stationary Engineer. Will be responsible for the overall maintenance, operation, and reactive repair associated with the operation of process equipment to support a non-manufacturing facility. Stationary Engineers should expect to spend their time engaged in monitoring system operations, equipment repair, predictive & preventative maintenance tasks and responding to equipment needs as required.

The Stationary Engineer must meet the necessary skill sets required to perform the maintenance and repairs to preserve the physical assets of the building, systems, and equipment under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.

 

Education/Experience
A high school diploma or GED is required. Must possess a CFC Universal card. Boiler Operators, Refrigeration Operators, or Stationary Engineers License(s). Eight plus years of verifiable facility maintenance experience preferred to support qualification to receive local Journeyman Card. Ability to safely operate portable hand and power tools. Must have strong written and verbal communication, detail oriented, and must have extensive knowledge on Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers
  • Oil Mist Collectors
  • Conditioned Air Units
    • Electric heaters
    • Pressure Control
    • Dew Point Control
      • Steam
      • Chilled Water Coil
  • Provide and Maintain Spare & Replacement Parts Inventories
  • Production Process Central Exhaust Systems
  • Class 7 Clean Rooms
  • De-ionized water systems
  • Ingersol Rand air compressors and dryers
  • Cleaver Brooks steam generators up to 100psi

 

Mechanical Systems

 

  • HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilating, Air conditioning and Refrigeration)
    • Indoor Air Quality
    • Temperature Control
    • Steam (high and low psi)
  • Scavenge Exhaust Systems
  • Preventative Maintenance (Scheduled maintenance to prevent break down)
  • Predictive Maintenance (Use of predictive equipment or tests to determine maintenance needs)
  • Fuel, Natural Gas & Water Meters (including Calibration)

Power Systems

  • Fuel Farm Operations & Reporting
  • Troubleshooting and/or repair
  • Normal power to first disconnect
  • Service and maintenance of systems up to 480VAC
  • Trouble shooting low voltage systems
    • 4 – 20mA
    • 1 – 10VDC
  • Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems

  • Ensure compliance of current Collective Bargaining Agreement

  • Participate in the Employee Safety Concern Process
