Job Description

General Summary:

Under general supervision of Department Manager and according to established policies and procedures, assists loan officers in connection with commercial loan activity. Accompanies loan officers when calling on customers as requested, and analyzes basic credit information pertaining to general/standard types of commercial loans. Prepares credit analysis narrative reports for loan officers and committees, reports adherence to credit requirements of current accounts, and provides assistance to loan officers related to the credit analysis function as requested.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Credit Analyst Function:

  1. Reviews all pertinent credit and financial information, including but not limited to business and personal financial statements, tax returns, and credit reports.
  2. Determines the need for more thorough investigation or additional information, and contacts appropriate sources for such information.
  3. Prepares all spreadsheet and related cash flow schedules.
  4. Analyzes financial statements and related material.
  5. Prepares written reports detailing facts relating to credit worthiness of borrower to loan officers and committees.


  1. Performs other duties that may be assigned by Management.
  2. Adherence to and support of all compliance and BSA/AML rules and regulations related to this job function.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting with 5 years of work related experience

Preferred Skills:

  1. Experienced knowledge of spreading software – Sageworks by Abrigo preferably.
  2. Five years of experience operating a computer, ten key number pad, printer, fax machine, and copier are required.
  3. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word software.
  4. A sound knowledge of accounting principles.
  5. A high level of analytical ability in order to determine the level of credit risk.
  6. Must have excellent communication skills, human relation skills, and organizational skills.
  7. Maintain a high level of company and customer confidentiality.
  8. Ability to handle high pressure and high volume of work due to deadline restraints.
  9. Must have a professional appearance and manner.


Work schedule will vary depending upon demand, but will consist of an 8-hour shift between the hours of 7:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime may be required. Regular attendance is required.
