Systems Engineer

JCS Solutions LLC (JCS) is seeking a Systems Engineer. This position offers a great opportunity to be part of a high-performing team responsible for supporting a full complement of customer-centric technical support services. Duties

• Research, design, architect and optimize a Hybrid infrastructure that uses traditional datacenter solutions and Azure
• Provide top tier support for operations and other engineering teams
• Serve as a subject matter expert on the administration of Windows and Linux systems
• Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis as needed
• Support administration of additional IT infrastructure consisting of the following:
  • Common infrastructure management Applications (monitoring, patching, etc.)
  • VMware
  • Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Backup solutions
  • Linux and Windows servers
  • Dell Hardware (servers, workstations, and storage appliances)
• Follow Security best practices for both traditional and cloud environments
• Produce, evaluate, and improve on operational processes, procedures, and documentation
• Provide timely support in the event of an outages or other unexpected operational issues
• Support other groups within the organization to maintain availability, reliability and proper operation of the infrastructure

Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a relevant field
• Extensive experience with Windows and other operating systems
• Previous experience in as a system administrator, system engineering or architecture role
• Hands on experience with scripting languages (PowerShell or others)
• Working knowledge of networking technologies and protocols; including TCP/IP and standard Internet related protocols
• Experience with Azure is preferred
• Experience with Directory services (Windows AD, Azure AD) preferred
• Experience with name resolutions services (DNS) preferred
• Effective communication skills
