The Worker’s Compensation Coordinator is responsible for administrative and technical work of workers’ compensation claims for the self-insured program. Duties include but not limited to:
Collect and input incident details into Intelex for vehicle / equip. / property damage, first aids, recordable, near miss incidents
Submit initial claim to TPA and subsequently collect and submit supporting docs for claims to TPA
Coordinate w/ supervisors to complete incident investigation for all incidents except recordables
Provide IW or supervisor DWC 1 form for each injury / claim
Record near misses in Safety Participation Program
Code WC medical treatment / misc. invoices to appropriate accounts
Prepare monthly reports for WC / Safety meetings
Handle day to day correspondence with TPA on claims
Upkeep of Intelex appointment calendar
Coordinate RTW accommodations with department managers
Maintain ongoing data for Osha Logs
Provide good customer service by resolving IW inquiries or issues
Graduation from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business law, business administration, human resources or related field and minimum 1 year experience in the area of human resources, safety/risk management or workers’ compensation or equivalent combination of training and experience that provides desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.
Knowledge of OSHA general industry standards, state safety statues and regulations
Must be bilingual (Spanish)
Knowledge of workers’ compensation principles and concepts
Must possess strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, and Excel
Good at multi-tasking and meeting multiple deadlines, dependable, and can work effectively with other departments and workers’ compensation team members
Must have very good interpersonal and communication skills both orally and in writing
Ability to manage time effectively and work in a changing environment.
