J Street is seeking an energetic and experienced Leasing Consultant to join our team in Downtown St. Louis! We are looking for a career oriented professional with a passion to succeed in a fast-paced environment. Key Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • High achiever who is detail oriented, takes direction well and is motivated to SELL.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to be a team player.
  • A passion for helping and assisting people.
  • Strong property operations knowledge with at least six (6) plus months’ experience in the multifamily industry. (Preferred)
  • Proficiency in Entrada, and Bluemoon software.
  • Solid MS Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Weekends Required

Essential Job Functions:

As a Leasing Consultant, you are responsible for all sales activity from lead generation to lease execution in order to achieve maximum occupancy and revenue growth for your community. You generate new leads by marketing within the local community and through creative online advertising. You communicate with future residents over the phone and internet and set appointments for onsite tours. You assist with promoting the company brand through daily marketing and weekly resident events. You are dedicated to fostering an on-going positive relationship with residents and you deliver exceptional customer service to ensure maximum number of leases and establishing stabilized occupancy numbers.

Conducts all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, Fair Housing laws, Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Violence Against Women Act and all other laws pertaining to multifamily housing.


  • Stand & greet prospective residents/visitors and handle telephone calls in a polite and professional manner.
  • Actively prequalify and pursue prospective residents to apply and lease.
  • Open and inspect vacant and model apartments, walk assigned property areas and report any items that need correcting to the Maintenance team and Property Manager. Close and lock models, show units, common areas and office each evening before leaving and secure golf cart.
  • Be intimately familiar with the surrounding market including rents, security deposits, amenities, and any specials/concessions being offered by the competition.
  • Prepare all NAA forms and Lease Addendums completely and accurately and be able to fully explain them to residents and prospective residents.
  • Participate in weekly staff development meetings and training on site and offsite when needed.
  • Have the ability to commute to corporate office for meetings and trainings when needed.
  • Participate in frequent resident events.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license in the state which the property is located.
  • Be knowledgeable and trained on Fair Housing Laws.

Administrative * Prepare all leasing forms, new move in procedures and reports in an accurate, complete, and timely manner.

  • Assist the Property Manager and/or Assistant Manager in completing any required reports and projects as requested.
  • Verify information contained on rental applications and present them to the Property Manager for final approval by utilizing lease file checklist.
  • Upload and maintain the property’s paperless files in a neat, complete, and accurate order.
  • Preform daily online marketing ad’s, responding to SEO reviews and social media interaction.
  • Complete daily/weekly activity reports and market surveys.
  • Assist the Property Manager in any other responsibilities.
