Human Resource Generalist

The Human Resource Generalists' primary focus is to support the day-to-day operations of Human Resource department, collaborate with and support HR teammates and to provide direction and guidance to employees at all levels.
Essential Functions:
- Perform essential duties within hiring, onboarding, orientation, performance management, termination and severance procedures
- Provide guidance, counsel and support to leadership regarding employee relations and performance issues.
- Create, implement and administer employee policies and procedures
- Leave and benefit administration.
- Identify ways to improve policies, procedures and overall HR/company efficiencies
- Guide, counsel and support employees at all levels
- Support the HR Department in implementing programs to improve the overall employee experience.
- Provide support to HR team members
- Offer proactive recruiting assistance
- Create and conduct new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Position Type: This is a full-time in office position; 40 hour minimum, with the expectation to maintain a regular work schedule Monday - Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel: Minimal travel required for this position (to corporate office, as needed)
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma
- 4+ years Human Resources experience in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Proficient in HR policies and procedures
- Knowledge of employment laws (multi-state)
- Leave management experience; FMLA, Worker’s Comp, ADA
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
- HR Certification (SHRM)
