Every summer from Memorial Day to Labor Day vacationers can enjoy live entertainment during the day or night at our resort. Sales Account Manager in South Padre Island, TX, USA

The Sales Manager is responsible for effectively soliciting and becoming familiar with all accounts in their market segments. They are also responsible for prospecting and closing on assigned accounts/territory to positively impact hotel revenues. The Sales Manager will work in conjunction with the Director of Sales to achieve the hotel's revenue and market share goals. The focus of sales may vary based on the respective property the associate is assigned to. Management-level associates are expected to work as much of each workday as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; College course work in related field is desired.

  • Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred

  • Must have a valid driver's license

  • Must be proficient with Windows operating systems and Salesforce CRM environment

  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly

  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative solutions quickly and accurately

  • Must work well in stressful high pressure situations while maintaining composure and objectivity

  • Must be effective in providing and anticipating solutions in the workplace as necessary

  • Must have the ability to assimilate complex information data etc. from disparate sources and consider adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need

  • Must be effective at listening, clarifying and providing solutions to the concerns raised by coworkers and guests

  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive friendly courteous and service-oriented manner

  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Isla Grand’s standards

  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming which include compliance with the Isla Grand dress code and wearing name tag when working

  • Comply at all times with Isla Grand standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations

  • Comply with certification requirements as applicable for position to include: Food Handlers Alcohol Awareness CPR & First Aid

  • Solicit assigned accounts to achieve or exceed budgeted rooms revenue and improve hotel’s performance in the marketplace

  • Conducts sales specific to Business Travel and/or Groups as required by property.

  • Comply with attainment of individual goals

  • Schedule and coordinate sales appointments via cold calls, prospecting for assigned territory, segments

  • Regularly contact existing accounts based on the tracing frequencies of the Accounts Coverage Program

  • Monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate trends within your market

  • Meet or exceed sales solicitation call goals as assigned by the Director of Sales

  • Entertain clients via site tours and meals if appropriate

  • Assist in coordinating and executing special promotions related to direct sales segments i.e. sales blitzes, trade shows, etc

  • Attend and participate in Daily/Weekly Sales Meeting

  • Attend monthly meetings of assigned professional organizations

  • Participate in required M.O.D. and Saturday office coverage as scheduled

  • Be familiar with all Isla Grand sales policies and house rules

  • Attend monthly all-employee meetings and any other functions required by management

  • Monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate trends within your market

  • React to negative trends in market place by implementing blitzes or catering promotions

  • Handle inquires as part of Inquiry Day Program

  • Perform any other duties as requested by the General Manager or Director of Sales

  • Ability to travel 25% of the year within designated territory or as assigned

  • Working during holidays and/or weekends may be required

  • Other duties as assigned

Compensation:

  • Quarterly and Yearly Bonus structure

  • Salary based on experience

  • Full-Time

  • Paid Time Off options
