What you can expect in a typical day:

You will acquire net new business within the territory of Southern New Hampshire and Massachusetts. A significant part of your day will include prospecting activities with minimal time spent on post-sale activities.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks with strong attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of our company and offering
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload
  • Proven ability to prospect new accounts
  • Ability to develop a territory plan

Professional skills:

  • Responsible for the acquisition and performance of profitable new business within the territory of Southern New Hampshire and Massachusetts
  • Utilize sales tools such as Microsoft Office and Sales CRM
  • Follow defined sales process
  • Spend significant time on prospecting activities with minimal time on post sales activities
  • Sell complex offerings or bundling multiple offerings
  • Drive new product sales
  • Create and track sales leads with his/her sales channel
  • Spot leads in other areas of the business (cross leads)
  • Respond to cross leads within 24 hours
  • Collaborate with account managers in his/her channel and across other business lines
  • Create enough leads/opportunities to achieve sales target
  • Keep sales pipeline current with only those leads and opportunities that are progressing to commitment
  • Monitor activated accounts to ensure volume and gm is fully realized as committed to on the opportunity
  • Discover and capture all pertinent customer information
  • Capture all customer conversation/information in the CRM
  • Build profitable solution to achieve a win/win customer offer
  • Understand complex opportunities and submit complex deals for approval as required
  • Understand credit granting requirements
  • Communicate internally with key stakeholders and groups to ensure a great customer experience
  • Forecast opportunities that will close in the next 30/60 days
  • First point of customer contact with new customers
  • Collaborate with Account Manager to transition new customer to the Account Management team
  • Participate in sales meetings
  • Present close the gap plans/adjust activity levels if forecast is not on plan

Travel:

  • Frequent travel within territory required (Southern New Hampshire and Massachusetts)

Education and experience:

  • Post-secondary education in business or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience working in sales
  • Sales designation would be considered an asset (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience in the petroleum industry
  • Salesforce experience would be considered an asset
  • Excellent Communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills required
