Software Developer

Ironworker Employees' Benefit Corporation is currently seeking at least 3 Software Developers for a 6 month to 1 year temporary assignment with the possibility of a permanent offer.

The job of a Software Developer was established to provide technical expertise configuring, documenting, testing, modifying and maintaining packaged and custom written mission critical software applications for Ironworker Employees’ Benefit Corporation (IEBC).

Apply technology expertise to the software design and development process. Create system and operating documentation. Support all issues that arise within the specific application area. This position requires strict adherence to the Ironworker Employees’ Benefit Corporation’s Security and Privacy Policy and Employee Confidentiality Agreement.

Job Description The Software Developer role will be to perform a variety of duties related to the coding, writing stored procedures, troubleshooting applications, data migration from legacy applications, system integration, system administration, upgrades, and support departmental software applications and databases, including:

 To configure applications by translating the business requirements into reliable software applications.

 To assist with relational database systems installation, administration, and support;

 To build and support interfaces and data export and import routines between applications;

 To write custom software, reports and data extracts;

 To perform data import and export routines and report writing applications.

 To perform complex analysts, troubleshooting, and problem solving upon financial data and related database and software applications.

 To perform related work as required.

Essential Job Functions

 Partner with business to gather requirements and develop applications supporting business operations.

 Provide technical expertise in solving customers' operational information systems requirements.

 Perform technical and functional troubleshooting and on-call support.

 Influence business analysis; develop business and technical requirements; design functional and technical specifications; software programming; testing applications.

 Coordinate and implement plans to test business and functional processes during system development and quality assurance testing.

 Appropriately prioritize a variety of working tasks.

 Proactively participate in IT workflow definition and monitoring of processes including: change control, project management, and service request & task management.

 Provide subject matter expertise regarding assigned applications to other members of IT and business team.

 Excellent listening and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work and communicate with business partners (vendors), IT staff and customers.

 Ability to understand the importance of, and respect for, the confidentiality of information in accordance with applicable contractual obligations, standards, and regulations.

Job Qualifications

 Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and related work experience

 Minimum of 5+ years of IT application development & implementation experience

 Strong understanding of Software Development Life-Cycle (SDLC)

 Demonstrate knowledge of database structure and working practice of reporting tools

 Demonstrate knowledge of accounting principles G/L, A/P, A/R

 Demonstrate analytical critical thinking skills for process development and problem resolution

 Windows/.Net design/development. Crystal Reports XI. SSIS.

 MS Visual Studio development. Vb.net, VB6. Telerik ORM. Vault source control.

 Databases: SQL Server 2000 – 2012, Access.

 Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills

 Experience with and enjoyment of working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

 Strong customer service orientation
