Job Description

The AE role is critical to the success of Iridium Technology, with a primary responsibility of identifying and developing new opportunities with prospective customers in the assigned territory. The AE is a domain expert in legal industry finance and Iridium Technology products. This individual will partner, collaborate and plan with the Iridium sales, marketing, and management teams to develop leads and manage the sales cycle from demand generation through opportunity close. Negotiation and closing skills are a must. Prospects will view this individual as someone who can help them solve critical business problems. This is a work-from-home position and requires the candidate to be a self-starter with a strong discipline to achieve outcomes.

Reports To: CRO - Sales


  • Achieve defined 12-month new sales objective through a combination of telephone, web, e-mail based, and some live activity to new prospects.[TJ1] [RW2] [RW3]
  • Identify potential new customers utilizing effective prospective selling techniques to expand customer base.
  • Fully apprise the management team of monthly sales trends, making recommendations for adjustments to tactical plans.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the Iridium portfolio offerings as well as competitive products/services to articulate the benefits and advantages of Iridium’s solutions, and handle customer concerns or objections.
  • Forecast and manage account/opportunity detail using internal sales tools. Opportunity data is expected to be maintained on a daily basis.
  • Collaborate with management, product owners, and Marketing to develop and create necessary Sales materials and maintain online repository of sales content
  • Network with industry leadership, C-level executives, and other key influencers to understand, analyze and share unique client information and industry insights. Establish relationships with multiple contacts across the firm.
  • Create ongoing messaging to the target population. This includes newsletter, webinar, and other materials to support product value and adoption.
  • Accurately and efficiently document information gathered from clients, and, document interactions in the sales process in CRM systems and other formats as required. Daily updating is the expected cadence.
  • Accurately and consistently report progress of territory plan toward meeting revenue quota goals via forecast/pipeline reports to and meetings with Sales management.
  • Utilize and drive adoption on all required processes, tools, systems, sales metrics, and reporting tools.
  • Approximately 30% overnight travel to client meetings, sales meetings, training programs, trade shows, company internal management meetings, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



  • Relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (Information Technology, Accounting/Finance, etc.). *
  • Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 7 years of new business sales success in legal industry finance technology or finance software solutions. *
  • Demonstrated drive and experience to sell and win business successfully. *
  • Must have the ability to travel overnight for work related events*
  • Ability to build strong relationships with others to establish a network of relationships with individuals who can provide information, help or access to others.
  • Politically savvy to understand and manage the matrix relationships in the legal industry. Includes the ability to identify the real decision-makers and key influencers and predict how new events or situations will affect individuals and groups within the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral & written) skills required.
  • Executive presence, communication and presentation skills to convince customers to purchase Iridium Technology products and services.
  • Strong collaboration and team skills required.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with and assist others in a team environment.
  • Ability to perform research quickly and expertly, including utilizing appropriate search techniques to uncover valuable industry events and insights.
  • Proven investigation or probing skills to uncover sales opportunities. Be curious.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced competitive environment is preferred
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Internet Explorer. Experience with Hubspot CRM is a plus.
