Position Summary:

Invenra is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Associate to join our Innovation team. This individual will report to Senior Scientist, Innovation, and will work across teams to advance understanding of a rapidly growing library of antibody – antigen binding interactions using SPR and BLI. The individual in this role will use biophysical, biochemical, and statistical principles to implement and optimize the role of high-throughput approaches into multiple steps in the drug development pipeline at Invenra. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented and able to work and communicate in parallel with representatives from multiple projects. As part of the Innovation team, the candidate will also be resourceful and able to leverage a breadth of bench skills necessary to advance new technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work independently and in teams to design, implement, and execute high-throughput biomolecular binding studies.
  • Develop or implement novel experimental approaches to maximize data quality and throughput.
  • Ensure performance of SPR instrument through inventory management and routine maintenance.
  • Collaborate with manager and project teams to interpret data
  • Maintain detailed records of experimental design and results
  • Assist in writing activities such as drafting SOPs
  • Utilize knowledge of biochemistry and molecular biology to support Innovation team development and optimization of antibody discovery projects.

Required Education, Experience, and Competencies:

  • Bachelor of Science in chemistry, biochemistry, or other biological/physical science discipline is required
  • A minimum of one year of basic lab or relevant industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with biomolecular binding or enzymatic assays
  • Experience in quantitative analysis of biochemical or biophysical data using MS Excel, data analysis software, or custom scripts in languages such as Python, R or MATLAB
  • Background or experience in bioinformatics or general experience with programming language such as Python, R, or MATLAB is a plus
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Hands-on experience with molecular cloning
  • Willingness to learn, apply and develop new data analysis methods
  • Ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
