MCSS is requesting the assistance of a technical writing consultant(s) on a per hour basis to review and refine training materials used within the SRO/SSE TP. The Consultant(s) will provide technical review and technical writing assistance of all training materials related to the SRO/SSE Training Program. Training materials are utilized for live in-person training along with hybrid/distance learning.
Bidders are expected to provide hourly rates for technical writing assistance.
Technical Review Assistance
1 Review all SRO/SSE TP training materials for clarity, readability, grammar, spelling and legibility.
2 Ensure all SRO/SSE TP training materials have consistent formatting.
3 Ensure all SRO/SSE TP materials adhere to accessibility standards as set forth by the State of Maryland.
4 Review hybrid/distance learning materials and recommend changes as necessary.
5 Review recorded training materials for consistency and legibility of closed captioning.
6 Review on an ongoing basis new materials and changes to existing training materials.
Technical Writing Assistance
1 Provide technical writing assistance for new requirements related to the SRO/SSE TP.
2 Assist with the creation of Student and Instructor Guide(s) on as needed basis.
1 Bidder must demonstrate competence and experience in technical writing of public safety training materials.
2 Bidder must demonstrate expertise in the use of Microsoft (MS) Office and Google Docs products, including but not limited to PowerPoint, Google Slides, MS Word and Google Docs.
3 Bidder must demonstrate expertise in development of public safety training curriculum and programs.
4 Bidder must Document (e.g. evaluations, client references, materials) of previous public safety training development, demonstrating a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the area of public safety training
1 Bidder must have an awareness and understanding of law enforcement terminology.
2 Bidder must have an awareness and understanding of education terminology.
3 Bidder must provide evidence of their experience providing similar services as those sought herein for a minimum of five (5) years.
C. Education Requirements:
1 Bidder must possess a minimum Bachelors’ Degree or higher.
Bidder must have three (3) years minimum of technical review and technical writing experience.
Place of Work:
Due to the pandemic, work may be completed at bidder’s location with delivery held virtually via Google meet or WebEx.
