Sr Vice President of Advocacy and Engagement

The Sr. Vice President will have a strong acumen for mountain biking advocacy and community engagement. They will also understand the programmatic and educational opportunities stemming from local trail construction and development. The VP will have general managerial experience and a strategic perspective to help grow and develop IMBA on every level. This role will oversee IMBA's work in government affairs, education, community engagement, programs, and local partnerships with an emphasis on strengthening our delivery model of support and services to local Trail Champions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consistently brainstorming and collaborating with team for new ideas and strategies
  • Oversee and manage Government Affairs, Education, Community Engagement, Programs and IMBA Local staff and budget.
  • Develop in conjunction with team and Board strategic engagement to build and support work for more trails close to home.
  • Work in conjunction with leadership to develop funding opportunities for local org capacity and trail projects.
  • Ensure strategic plans and goals are in alignment with our vision and mission.
  • Play an active and strategic role in the Senior Management team for IMBA
  • Understanding of federal and state policies for land management and access.
  • Position requires 20% travel.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent.
  • Fifteen to twenty years related experience and/or training.
  • Experience working with local or regional organizations to engage mission based work.
  • Experience working with legal policies and government regulations.
  • Experience working with leading programs in a non-profit.
  • Working knowledge of forecasting and financial reports in a non-profit organization
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret economic conditions and anticipate the impact on the organization.
  • Basic competence in duties and tasks of supervised employees.
  • Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific method.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and enthusiasm.
  • Proven leadership and business acumen skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate subordinates in cross team collaboration.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Annual salary range for this role is $90,000-$125,000 based on direct experience. We are also willing to work with any independent contractors having relevant experience and interest.
