Introducing IFI and Job Description for National Director of Church Partnerships:

International Friendships, Inc. is a growing faith-based organization, whose mission is to extend life-changing hospitality and friendship to international college students. Staff at IFI are servant leaders, who love helping students from around the world feel at home on their respective campuses in the U.S. We do this by offering services, such as airport pickups, holiday hosting, temporary housing, conversation partnerships, and social events and trips.

Our National Director of Church Partnerships will be developing partnerships with local churches in new areas. Some key traits of the National Director of Church Partnerships position are to have great people skills, be excellent at networking, and be able to spread the vision of IFI in order to mobilize churches and volunteers to do international student ministry. This position can be done remotely and does not require the candidate live in Columbus, OH.

National Director of Church Partnerships Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain financial and prayer partnerships for the budgeted needs of the role, ensure minimum monetary standards are achieved, and send out a ministry newsletter at least every other month to partners
  • Identify key churches in areas where IFI has a goal to start a new ministry
  • Contact church leaders (Lead pastors, Missions pastors, and key lay leaders) to share with them about the strategic nature of ISM ministry and how partnering with IFI can assist their church to be a part of fulfilling the great commission
  • Provide training and resources to church leaders on how to start an international student ministry in their church
  • Work with the Training Department and Communications department in developing volunteer training materials
  • Take part in direct ministry at an IFI location (10-20% of time)

Qualifications from the National Director of Church Partnerships:

  • Adherence to IFI's statement of faith, core values, and policies
  • Well organized with attention-to-detail and ability to complete tasks independently
  • Ability to communicate with diverse populations from different ethnic backgrounds
  • Ability to work successfully in a team
  • Has demonstrated ability as a developer of leadership
  • Self-starter, able to work independently, with strategic planning skills
  • Ability to work under stress and be flexible
  • Proficient with technology, including Microsoft Office and Google applications

Education/Experience Required for National Director of Church Partnerships:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor degree or demonstrated advanced level of ministry experience, knowledge, and skills
  • 3+ years' supervisory experience, including working with and building multicultural teams
  • Experience in cross-cultural ministry, preferred
  • Certificate-level completion of Perspectives on the World Christian movement is preferred, and, if not existent, should be completed within three years of employment with IFI

Hours and Pay:

This is a full-time, salaried position (40 hours/week). A National Director of Church Partnerships may need to work evenings and/or weekends for specific events/projects. Travel is expected, as is attendance at several conferences each year. This position requires the development of a ministry partner team which supplies the necessary prayer and financial support to cover salary, benefits, and ministry expenses. After acceptance to become a staff member, we provide training to develop a team of ministry partners. The pay range begins between $45,000 and $50,000 after the period of support development, based on experience and other factors.
