Strategic Account Manager

The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for the customer care and oversight of accounts assigned, while facilitating new sales within those existing accounts. The Strategic Account Manager will also identify and sell new business to grow their overall portfolio, by prospecting and closing business that meets PeopleReady’s National customer profile, typically representing at least $1M in recognized revenue across multiple geographies.

JOB SCOPE:

  • The Strategic Account Manager position is part of the PeopleReady organization and champions the firm’s position as a leading provider of staffing solutions across all major industries.
  • This position is charged to plan and execute account management and sales strategies to increase market share and profit margins in maintaining and growing our strong position in the marketplace.
  • The Strategic Account Manager will strongly participate in our strategies in the retention of national accounts and thereby drive market share and revenues.
  • The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for the customer care and oversight of assigned accounts in a specific market. This role will aggressively pursue opportunities within current national accounts while also facilitating new sales within accounts where we don’t currently have business in that market.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversight and management of accounts that are existing and assigned within PeopleReady’s National customer profile.
  • Works closely National Account Managers and National Leadership in developing account management and sales strategies to sustain and grow the value of each customer relationship.
  • Regularly monitor technology tools to ensure retention and sales are maximized, and service levels are maintained according to established KPIs.
  • Accountable for expanding revenues for assigned portfolio, growth of existing account business by targeting account retention and sales penetration.
  • Consult and engage with customers to understand their business needs, and plan service delivery that meets or exceeds their expectations.
  • Initiate the implementation strategy for new site or accounts, ensuring we drive the right sales activities to ramp-up account penetration within the first year.
  • Strong communication skills and a partnering mentality with our national and field teams are a must.
  • Leverage technology tools (CRM) to build and document an account management and growth strategy for each account.
  • Supports company values of integrity and respect through actions and commitment.

 

CORE KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to persuade a wide range of customer stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong analytical skills; comfortable analyzing order, associate, and customer data to drive results.
  • Experience with customer identification, prospecting, and marketing the company’s value proposition to complex, high-revenue targets that have a National or Strategic customer profile.
  • Experience with account management and customer relationship building
  • Experience pricing, negotiating terms and closing new business sales.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 to 5 years B2B sales / account management
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong record of sales and account retention preferred
  • Must be able to drive throughout assigned market to visit customers and prospects
