The warehouse attendant is responsible for ensuring that material orders are delivered correctly and undamaged, and to ensure that the material orders going out for installation are complete. The warehouse manager also keeps track of the warehouse inventory and assists in preparing materials for small projects.
Job Functions and Duties
o Develop and maintain expert knowledge of Interior Specialties products and services.
o Identify any problems with product materials, and work with vendors to resolve product materials problems quickly and effectively.
o Communicate with the scheduling manager about installer and installation issues.
o Support the scheduling manager.
o Track orders of materials, tools, and equipment.
o Check delivered orders for damage and completeness.
o Label delivered materials and store them in the warehouse in an organized manner.
o Stage materials and supplies for the next day installation and verify all materials are accounted for.
o Ensure that materials prepared for installers are complete, undamaged, and ready to be installed when they leave the warehouse.
o Ensure installer paperwork packages are accurate and complete.
o Build effective relationships with customers, designers, specialty contractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support the core values and core focus of the company.
o Communicate with installers to determine any new issues that require changes to company policies and procedures.
o Keep the warehouses clean and organized.
Required Experience, Education, and Skills
The warehouse attendant should possess the following:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Ability to organize and complete multiple priorities
- OSHA 10-hour certified
- Forklift operation certification
Typical Physical and Mental Demands
The warehouse attendant must be able to effectively climb a ladder and lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Typical Working Conditions
The warehouse attendant works in the main office as well as the non-air-conditioned warehouse, managing materials in the mornings and afternoons.
