Job Description

 POSITION SUMMARY

The production manager is responsible for planning, organizing and managing production in the facility. Your goal will be to ensure that products are produced efficiently, on time, in budget and to the quality standards of their clients.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

·       Directs, plans, and coordinates activities concerned with production of conveyor systems and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors, utilizing knowledge of product technology, production methods and procedures, and capabilities of machines and equipment

·       Collaborates and confers with management team to establish and implement company policies and goals and production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered

·       Coordinates production processes and activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of staffing, machines, and equipment

·       Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems

·       Monitors product standards and develops and implements quality control program and operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality

·       Monitors the production processes, adjusts or revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems, and ensures goods and services are produced efficiently and with the correct quantities, quality, and cost

·       Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products

·       Oversees the selection and maintenance of equipment, determination of required resources, and estimation of costs 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

·       High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in a related filed preferred

·       A minimum of 7 years of experience of manufacturing leadership required; experience with parcel, material handling, and storage preferred

·       Background and certification in Lean Six Sigma manufacturing principles and/or Kaizen is highly preferred

·       Demonstrated ability to successfully lead teams and to participate in and positively contribute as a member of a leadership team

·       Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees and relevant external business partners

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a must

·       Knowledge of business and management principles including, strategic planning, resource allocation, and the effective coordination of people and resources

·       Ability to apply problem-solving techniques 

·       Ability to embrace and foster an environment that supports the company’s core values
