Summary of Responsibilities: The Sales Associate shall be responsible for building and maintaining a sales territory by engaging both franchised and independent automobile dealerships and regional finance companies (“Sellers”) for the bulk acquisition of auto receivable portfolios. The Sales Associate will be expected to make cold calls and take inbound Seller calls to build relationships and capture the business. The Sales Associate is responsible for working with the principal(s) (CEO, President, Owner, etc.) of the Sellers to gain new business and manage the relationship. The fundamental role of the Sales Associate will be to penetrate new markets, manage an existing Seller base, maintaining high quality customer satisfaction and retention and to increase market share in assigned territories.
Prospecting, cold calling and building relationships with targeted Sellers
Originating and sourcing portfolios from potential bulk portfolio Sellers over the phone
Seller relations and follow up on applications and deals submitted.
Provide the highest level of customer service possible to the Seller community
Work closely with the underwriting and credit teams throughout the purchase process
Work a trade show booth at industry conferences
Special projects as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Must be able to lift boxes weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
Minimum 2.5 years’ experience in the automobile sales/finance industry. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in sales and marketing, underwriting, or dealership operations.
Working knowledge of sub-prime or non-prime auto finance highly preferred.
Working knowledge of local auto dealership markets preferred.
Preference given to candidates with existing sales or other relationships with area auto dealerships.
Working knowledge of basic computer operations, including Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, etc.).
Ability to execute basic sales tasks unsupervised.
Detail oriented with strong technical skills, good judgment, problem solving skills and decision making abilities.
Good verbal and written communication skills are required as this position will have exposure to office personnel, executive management, and outside vendors.
Ability to work independently, handle multiple concurrent projects and manage time effectively.
Self-starter with positive attitude and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of finance and lending, although not required, would be beneficial.
Extended working hours may be required as dictated by management and business needs.
Valid, current state driver’s license and state-approved minimum automobile liability insurance required.
Ability to travel will be required
Ability to work flexible hours and be on-call.
