Job Description

Innova HR Solutions is partnering with a growing client to hire a Controller. By joining their team, you will The Controller will partner with the business unit leadership by providing financial guidance to achieve strategic growth objectives. The Controller has direct and/or indirect supervision of the Finance Department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, invoicing and credit/collections and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. To be successful in this role, you will need to have an in-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience with risk management. Ultimately, you'll make sure we comply with accounting regulations, maximize profits, and mitigate risks.

What you'll do

  • Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements including coordinating activities regarding external auditors.
  • Develop and/or improve administrative systems & reporting metrics to better monitor & control job timing & costs.
  • Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective.
  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly.
  • Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies.
  • Implement and ensure compliance of internal financial & operational controls and procedures and SOX related requirements.
  • Control and maintenance of fixed asset inventory to include annual fixed asset audit.
  • Support the monthly and quarterly forecasting process by identifying any significant operational changes that affect the achievement of the annual plan.
  • Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
  • Prepare and review various reports required by Corporate.

What You Need to Know

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with an emphasis on Accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in accounting. A minimum of 4 years as an accounting manager, Assistant Controller or Controller.
  • Must have CPA or CMA designation.
  • Must be familiar with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally both locally and throughout the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
