Job Description

If you are a Manufacturing & Operations professional looking for an opportunity to grow, ITP has an exciting opportunity for you! We are looking for a well-versed Controls Engineer for our site in the Racine Wisconsin area. As a Controls Engineer working within the manufacturing/distribution center, the role will provide front-line support to the Automation Control team to ensure that control issues, including code related issues within live operational systems, are investigated and resolved as quickly as possible.

As a Controls Engineer you will:

•Focus on equipment troubleshooting and maintaining equipment necessary to the manufacturing production process.

•Provide front line issues investigation of live production control systems (hardware and software) including the use of relevant diagnostic tools

•Carry out planned maintenance across the site.

•Complete quality inspections

•Perform factory testing to ensure high product quality.

•Document and maintain records of projects and revisions

•Where a hardware fault is identified, activate a pre-defined workaround or make temporary modifications to the code

•Work with the Automation Control team to diagnose and deploy the required code fixes.


•A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline or advanced degree preferred.

•A minimum of 3 years of experience as a controls engineer, preferably in an automation environment.

•Experience in a warehouse, distribution, production or manufacturing environment

•Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems.

•Good technical & experienced hands-on ability relating to automation hardware and software.

•Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite and appropriate hardware and software necessary to the essential functions of the duties required.

•A good understanding of PLC control system architecture and field control devices.

•A good understanding of DC motor controls.

•Online code monitoring, modification and development

•Experience with SCADA

Experience level:

•Minimum 3 years of experience

•Education: Bachelor's (preferred)

Manufacturing environment. Exposure to noise, odors, chemicals and machinery. Required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment as necessary
