Infusion Nurse

Immediate Need for Infusion Nurse: Infectious Diseases Physicians, Inc is a ten physician, two nurse practitioner private clinical practice. Our goal is to provide comprehensive infectious disease care within multiple service lines involving physician and nurse practitioner inpatient rounds, outpatient / office care, infusion services, travel health education & vaccinations, and clinical research. As we move forward with our company growth within the Northern Virginia region we are seeking an experienced nurse with office and hospital experience.

We are looking for an experienced nurse, can prioritize effectively, communicate efficiently, takes initiative, and completes assignments in a timely and professional manner. We are looking for an exceptionally motivated individual who genuinely enjoys being part of a team, is well organized, and is able to think quickly on their feet. The ideal candidate will be familiar with triaging patients needs, is familiar with both intravenous infusions and antibiotics (or having the willingness and interest to learn), experienced with vaccination administration, provides thorough charting documentation, and can provide input to increase patient and staff satisfaction. The standard work hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm although we stagger nursing hours arrivals by 30 minutes to ensure appropriate coverage starting at 8:00am and ends at 5:30pm. Variations within these times are generally assigned based on company's needs and staff's availability. Weekend nursing coverage for half days on Saturday and Sunday rotates every four weeks to cover our IV infusion program. When working half days on Saturday and Sunday, a compensation day ("off day") is provided on Mondays.

Additional rotating tasks include submitting prescription refills, conducting prior authorizations for medications, rooming patients to obtain recent medical history and vital signs, and ensures the physician and nurse practitioner have relevant data (lab data, radiology reports, specialist notes) at the start of a clinical appointment. A collegial and collaborative approach within our clinical setting is imperative for both the company and individual employee.
