This inside sales position will offer the right candidate a great opportunity to build the customer portfolio of pharmaceutical and biotech customers worldwide. The position offers base salary with a commission plan providing impressive earning potential commensurate to the individual’s experience.
The Technical Sales Specialist provides both pre-sales and post-sales technical support for the development and implementation of customer applications utilizing INDIGO’s Products and Service. The position will solve problems independently and within established policies and procedures. Their primary objective is to ensure satisfaction from our customers conducting their research. In addition, the position will be responsible for driving assay utilization within the existing customer space.
- Develop with customers an understanding of the full range of capabilities that INDIGO offers to meet that customer's specific needs.
- Answer scientific questions from customers to give confidence that INDIGO kits and services are fit-for-purpose and are a good value for price.
- Get occasional buyers to think of INDIGO for more situations where we can meet their research needs
- Suggest complementary products/services needed to meet the customer's research needs.
- Direct prospects/customers to on-line resources that will answer technical/scientific questions and provide education on nuclear receptors and use of INDIGO kits and services.
- Establish strategies for existing sales leads and past customers to convert into repeat business.
Assist in facilitating the proper customer support for technical issues.
Professionally manage accounts, both pre- and post-sales.
Build a pipeline by identifying opportunities, listening to customers’ needs and providing solutions.
Work closely with customers to increase their use of INDIGO’s products and services.
Work with the INDIGO laboratory science team by planning/conducting customer meetings.
Continuously monitor market dynamics, analyze market opportunities, provide feedback to development and execute marketing plans.
Attend trade show events/conferences as required.
Work with management team to develop sales objectives and goals, and a plan of action for achieving them.
Maintain a level of knowledge on our competitors’ product portfolio and positioning.
Travel required up to 25% time.
Degree in Biology, Chemistry or any other relevant field (MS or PhD preferred).
2+ years of customer interaction within the life science industry.
Possess excellent problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Have a history of exceeding performance goals, and maintaining outstanding customer relationships.
Highly effective in a small-company environment.
