Director of Software Engineering ($180K, Hybrid)

We are looking for a Director of Software Engineering to oversee the software engineering function in developing, releasing, and maintaining software applications/operating systems according to business needs. As the head of the engineering team, the Director will focus on execution, provide leadership and will oversee the effective and timely development of new and/or enhanced features, as well as monitoring all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle and Production Support service levels.

• Developing services and functionality for use by web applications utilizing modern stacks (i.e. Node.js, Python, Vue.js, React, PostgreSQL, AWS, Google Cloud ) in an Agile environment.
• Responsive Web Sites/Applications
• Single-page (SPA) and/or Progressive Web Applications (PWA)
• Develop, manage and deploy Serverless functions and services utilizing Infrastructure as Code.
• Work within all levels of a cloud-based stack to develop solutions and troubleshoot issues
• Adhere to our coding standards and industry best practices
• Optimize code for performance and stability
• Stay current on emerging technologies and techniques
• Troubleshoot coding issues and implement bug fixes
• Manage source code via Git in an agile, pull request-based workflow
  

• At least 5 years of professional software development experience with some team management
• Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6), specifically in relation to Front End frameworks, such as React, Vue.js, or AngularJS.
• Proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL.
• Experience with AWS and/or Google Cloud
• Experience with Serverless functions (Lambda)
• Experience developing RESTful and GraphQL API services
• Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams
• Experience with version control systems, such as Git
