SUMMARY

Provide creative solutions to meet client needs and objectives using branded media as sales and marketing tools. Interprets client requirements for graphic messaging within events, exhibits and interiors and provides creative design and production solutions within budgetary constraints both independently and as part of a team by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned. The duties and responsibilities as outlined in this Job Description may be changed from time to time by the Corporation, as it deems necessary, without further notice to the Employee.

  • Adhere to all Global Impact XM processes and policies accurately and efficiently.

  • Produce and present graphic concepts, design renderings, floor plans.

  • Interprets ideas and design concepts for internal communications.

  • Performs internal and client presentations.

  • Attends preliminary design and job launch meetings as necessary.

  • Stays fluent in current design trends, materials and presentation techniques.

  • Maintains an organized and clean working environment.

  • Assists with IT maintenance/upgrades where necessary.

  • Produces work in a timely manner, and meets tight deadlines.

  • Collaborates with design and production teams in any location within the organization.

  • Reports regular project updates and notifies potential problems to the Manager, Graphics and/or Manager,

  • Prioritizes, tracks, handles, and maintains records of the elements and time schedules of multiple projects.

  • Consults with client, production teams, account teams and/or supervisor to evaluate individual project needs.

  • Develops conceptual themes and graphics for new project bids working with Designers in the Creative Operations department.

  • Designs presentation proposals for new project bids based on information received from creative operations, account teams and/or 3-D design. Assembles material boards and/or presentation boards of initial or final concepts for internal review and client presentations.

  • Involved with the design of promotional print design pieces for clients and corporate branding for Company.

  • Researches illustrations, photographs, and text to plan presentation of material, product, or service.

  • Does prepress work on client supplied files considering all aspects of final production.

  • Responsible for all color matching.

  • Creates original production files.

  • Determines size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, selects style and size of type, and creates sample layouts.

  • Prepares layout prints for supervisor or client.

  • Creates finished layout, or prepares instructions for workers who assemble and prepare final layouts.

  • Submits materials requisition for substrates.

  • Reviews final layout and suggests improvements as needed, and presents final layout to supervisor or client for approval.

  • Prepares final layout for printer on paper, film, or disk. Checks proofs.

  • Reviews quality of final product before release to client.

  • Maintains and archives image resource files.

Education and/or Experience

College diploma from two-year College or technical school in Graphic Arts. 3-5 years’ experience in the events and exhibition industry an asset.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have expert level knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign. They should also have knowledge of Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Office Word Processing software, Microsoft PowerPoint and Outlook.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • This position requires flexible hours, possible weekend effort and involvement with the 24/7 Customer Support Program.

  • Communicates effectively with design/project management/account staff to establish client objectives.

  • Strong visualization and conceptual skills.

  • Knowledge of digital media and presentation design.

  • Strong conceptual skills.

  • Strong understanding of practical graphic applications.

  • Complete understanding of file preparation for graphic production.

  • Ability to fully collaborate and work in a team environment.

  • Ability to read and understand detailed drawings
