IT Support Specialist

Homelessness is the largest social and public health crisis in California. Illumination Foundation (IF) is a growing non-profit organization dedicated towards disrupting the cycle of homelessness by providing targeted, interdisciplinary services in our recuperative care centers, emergency shelters, housing services and children's and family programs. IF currently has 13+ facilities with 22+ micro-communities scattered across Orange County, Los Angeles County and the Inland Empire.

The IT Specialist provides helpdesk or technical assistance to hundreds of users by handling tasks involving computer hardware and software, VoIP systems, printers, security systems, networking, and other miscellaneous tasks. The pay range for this position is $22-25 per hour, depending on experience.

Job Duties:

• Oversee the performance of computer systems using remote management software.
• Provide above and beyond technical support of client-side systems adhering to organizational IT standards
• Diagnose and troubleshoot Windows/Apple laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
• Setup and provision VoIP telephones and manage 3rd party communication systems.
• Install, configure, and deploy hardware or software for Windows/Apple operating systems.
• Handle local area network and security camera installations.
• Provide end-user training to staff members.
• Contribute to process improvement and automation.

• Strong initiative, highly organized, and proactive in completing tasks independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to prioritize, troubleshoot, and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of PC hardware and networking equipment; understanding of Windows 10 and/or Apple operating systems.
• Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to convey complex information to a non-technical audience.
• Experience using PowerShell, scripting, or knowledge in computer programming a plus.
• Ability to stand, crouch, sit for long periods of time, and be able to lift up to 50lbs or more.
• Performs other related duties as required.
• Associate's level degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or IT related field; at least six months of relevant experience in lieu of education.
• IT related certification (CompTIA A+, MCP, etc.); preferred but not required.
