Internship Program

Illuminate Internship Program is an exclusive twelve-week opportunity, inviting interns across different disciplines to work alongside our senior team members and explore a career within the education space industry. Throughout the program, there are ample opportunities to participate in career development workshops, complete a meaningful resume-building project, network with the Illuminate team, and more. Our internship program is structured to develop future thinkers, and provide mentorship to eager students interested in the software industry.

Position Overview

Illuminate is seeking a Software Quality Assurance (QA) Engineering Intern interested in automation and gaining corporate knowledge in the software industry. As an Illuminate Intern, you will take ownership of various projects and assisting the team to further the QA department initiatives. Projects are subject to change based on department needs at time of the internship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write code to automate testing and enhance existing frameworks.

  • Work with technical tools such as JIRA, MBT, Selenium, and jMeter.

  • Be a part of an experienced Engineering QA squad.

  • Assist in day-to-day activities to help further department initiatives as directed by team mentors and/or management.

  • Work on a given project, as outlined by the manager and/or mentor at the beginning of the Internship program.

  • Attend all Internship program meetings, events, and career development workshops.

  • Create and present a final project at the program ending ceremony to managers, mentors, and peers.

  • Protect illuminate operations by keeping information confidential.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Desired Experience & Qualifications

  • Student enrolled in an accredited university in their junior or senior year, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Ability to work full-time hours (30 to 40 hours a week) for the entire 12-week program.

  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts.

  • Desire to learn and explore different areas of Engineering.

  • Familiar with Java.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Utilizes critical thinking and analytical skills on a regular basis to complete tasks.

  • Uses problem solving skills to overcome issues as needed.

  • Stays organized, while paying close attention to detail before submitting any work.
