The Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) is seeking applicants for a full-time Administrative Assistant in the Governmental Relations Department in IASB’s Springfield office. This position reports to the Associate Executive Director, Governmental Relations.
Position Summary: The Administrative Assistant positions provides support to the IASB Governmental Relations team by aiding the legislative specialists with day-to-day activities and providing administrative support of the Associate Executive Director of Government Relations, as necessary. Functions of the position include general scheduling, making meeting and travel accommodations, management of legislative information and calendars, staffing Association committees, assisting with department publications, and soliciting and providing information to school board members.
Education and or Experience Requirements: The position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, basic knowledge of the Illinois legislative process, five years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
This position requires the employee to be able to lift, move, and safely handle boxes and materials up to 25 pounds; repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers; and to be able to see, hear, and speak as necessary to perform the functions of the position.
