Job Description

ITW is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician responsible for the operation, maintenance, repair, and security of the corporate facility and campus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform complex predictive and preventive maintenance and corrective repair of building systems
  • Monitor building control system performance
  • Respond to assigned work order requests
  • Assist Security Contractor and Custodial Services Contractor personnel.
  • Complete all other duties and projects as assigned
  • Hours are first shift with paid overtime Saturdays as needed
  • Perform complex predictive and preventive maintenance and corrective repair of building systems
  • Monitor building control system performance
  • Respond to assigned work order requests
  • Assist Security Contractor and Custodial Services Contractor personnel
  • Complete all other duties and projects as assigned

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

  • Interpret and work from oral and written instructions
  • Work in a team environment and independently without direct supervision
  • Establish appropriate priorities and allocate resources and time
  • Read, interpret and work from architectural and electrical diagrams, schematics, drawings, blueprints and sketches
  • Interpret and follow federal, state and local codes and statutes
  • Operate Building Management computers and software systems
  • Perform emergency repairs and predictive and preventative maintenance tasks
  • Operate hi-lifts and utilize ladders and scaffolding including setup and maintenance
  • Possess knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trades
  • Exhibit proper use and care of tools and equipment used in the trades

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent and a certificate or diploma from a qualified educational institution or union equivalent program
  • Ten years of progressive experience in the building operations and maintenance field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Illinois vehicle driver's license and proof of insurability

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions varying noise levels. Role will operate hi-lifts and occasionally be on scaffolding.
